Robotic technology has arrived at The Horder Centre for knee replacement patients

As an orthopaedic centre of excellence, we want to offer our patients the option of accessing the very latest technology available.

We are therefore delighted to announce the introduction of the ROSA Knee System from Zimmer Biomet at The Horder Centre. This robotic surgical assistant for Total Knee Replacement (TKR) patients can provide an increased level of accuracy and greater precision when undergoing a TKR procedure, to maximise the chance of achieving the best possible position and alignment.Consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Sam Rajaratnam, performed the first two knee replacements in August with the technology and achieved highly successful results. It was a fantastic achievement for all involved and Richard Tyler, Horder Healthcare CEO, was on-site to congratulate the Horder Centre theatre team who enabled this robotic surgical innovation to take place.

Richard Tyler said, “Our motivation as a specialist centre for orthopaedics is to continually offer the optimum service to our patients, utilising the latest technology and expertise. Our exceptional consultants and highly developed pathway already demonstrate excellent patient outcomes, and this is further enhanced by the ROSA knee system”.
