Professional profile
Mr Obi Jude Nzeako is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in all aspects of modern shoulder and elbow surgery. His practice encompasses joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, sports injuries, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, arthritis, fractures, tendon disorders and nerve compression syndromes.
Mr Nzeako graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School, where an elective in Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale University first inspired him to pursue a career in orthopaedics. He subsequently completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious South East London rotation, gaining extensive experience at renowned centres including King’s College Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. During this time, he developed a particular passion for shoulder and elbow surgery and the management of complex upper limb conditions.
Following completion of his UK training, Mr Nzeako undertook two highly competitive fellowship programmes to further refine his expertise. His first fellowship was at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he received advanced training in complex upper limb trauma and modern reconstructive shoulder and elbow surgery. He then returned to Guy’s & St Thomas’ to complete a second specialist fellowship focused on advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder and elbow surgery, working alongside internationally recognised experts in the field. This combination of UK and international training enables him to offer patients the most up-to-date surgical techniques alongside established, evidence-based treatments.
